Since we started providing care in seniors' homes in 2013, we have been giving back with the goal to make the community a better place.
There are a lot of charities that need help on the Sunshine Coast. Many of whom support vulnerable groups outside the scope of our in-home care services.
In 2020, we provided $25,000 to cover the training costs of an assistance dog through Compass Inc.
For families with a loved one living with disability, therapy dogs can change an entire person's life.
After two intense years of training, Compass gift these dogs to local families in need, who have a disabled child.
We bought $10,000 worth of tools for Teens Take Control, who are a group that has a focus on reconnecting young people with a sense of community through various programs and services.
We direct $250 a month to The Board Meeting. They supply support to families that are in distress with children that are very high needs.
Last but not least, we are yearly donors to Wishlist, who are the local hospital foundation. Through fundraising events like Wishlist Giving Day, Wishlist Spring Carnival and 92.7 MIX FM’s Give Me 5, we’ve facilitated the provision of extra medical equipment, services like music therapy in palliative care, clown doctors in the children's ward and affordable accommodation for people that need to be close to the local hospital.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said Just Better Care Sunshine Coast has been a really generous supporter of the work they do for a long time.
The list of causes we support:
• Wishlist (Sunshine Coast Health Foundation)
• Compass Inc
• YouTurn
• Jeans for Genes
• 92.7 MIX FM’s Give Me 5
• Teens Take Control
• The Board Meeting (Surf Charity)

“Just Better Care are such a vital resource to Wishlist and our community. We all have families who rely on the public health system and have ageing family members that need care at home,” Ms Rowe said.
“All of the services Wishlist funds is only because orginisations like Just Better Care choose to give back and donate their time.
“As someone who works in a hospital with a lot of healthcare workers, the work you do lightens the load for them each and every day.”The list of causes we support:
